A day dream

Description

I believe that in Australia there are 2 different sides to life. The city and its luxuries or the country and its roughness. Both sides are beautiful and both have there own ups and downs, but to see what Australia is really about, to see the back bone of once a small colony of convicts to now a huge island country girt by sea and sand you must take a step away from the fancy things of the city and pull on a pair of boots.
I believe this is best seen through the eyes of a ringer, as depicted in this image, very much like Clancy's vision splendid, I believe the ringers of Australia know and see his vision and wish to live it.
To through a fleece or sew a crop, work cattle or dance in the first rains of the wet; every day out in country Australia is a good one and a rewarding one, not for any money that may be earned come pay day, but for the light show every morning and every evening, for the wildlife that call it home, for the feeling you get when you know your making a difference, even if your the only one who acknowledges it.
For being the back bone of australia through even the hardest drought i believe its Clancy's vision, now the ringers vision that shows australia in its true colours, that of which only the country life can show.

This photograph is of a ringers vision splendid, a day dream to some but a lifestyle to others. As he drives the truck back to camp after a days work mustering, australia's rural outback gives the vision he so longs to see.

This photograph was taken of a young Ringer named Alec McCrea, he is originally from Mudgee NSW and grow up on his family farm. Alec has been living on Iffley Station in far north Queensland for last 4 years during the dry season and cant seem to escape the place, the people and the general lifestyle.
